About the role
You will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing equipment while providing a high standard of technical support and customer service.
Key duties:
- Diagnostics, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance across a range of forklifts and materials handling equipment
- Working on counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, stock pickers, and specialist equipment
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Attending field service calls across Christchurch at logistics, manufacturing and industrial sites
- Completing workshop-based repairs and servicing
- Responding to breakdowns and carrying out repairs efficiently
- Providing professional technical advice and customer service
- Maintaining accurate service records and ensuring all work meets required standards
What we're looking for
While experience with electric forklifts (IE) is beneficial, the priority is a technician with a strong mechanical foundation and proven diagnostic and repair ability.
- Diesel Mechanic or relevant automotive/mechanical trade qualification
- Proven experience working on materials handling or heavy equipment
- Experience across IC and IE forklifts would be advantageous
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently without supervision
- Full, clean driver's licence
- Strong focus on safety, quality and customer service
- Positive, professional, and team-oriented approach
