We are looking for an experienced and empathetic Physiotherapist to provide high-quality therapy services to neurodiverse students. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the physical challenges faced by neurodiverse individuals and be able to design and implement effective treatment plans. You will work closely with educators, parents, and other professionals to support the physical development and well-being of our students. About the role Conduct assessments to determine the physical needs and abilities of neurodiverse students Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy plans to address specific needs and goals Provide direct therapy services, including exercises, stretches, and other interventions Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to integrate physiotherapy goals into students' overall education plans Educate and train staff and parents on techniques to support students' physical development Maintain up-to-date records and provide regular reports on students' progress Key requirements Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy Have a current practising certificate issued by the Physiotherapy Board of NZ Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team Sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity and a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi A current driver's licence and vehicle In return Kaiārahi i te Reo, Therapists', ATSSD and Special Education Assistants' Collective Agreement applies to this position and salary is commensurate with qualification and experience. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working with learners that may have complex physical, sensory, or behavioural needs. The OT will work with school staff, students, families, and external agencies. Minimum hours per week are 40 hours, Monday to Friday, and the role is full-time.
