Are you a talented plumber looking for a warm and welcoming work environment? Look no further! A family-owned business based in South Auckland is seeking a skilled plumber to join a tight-knit team.
If you're passionate about providing top-notch service and enjoy working in a supportive atmosphere, we want to hear from you! This is a full time, permanent role offering a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Read Blueprints and Plans: Study construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the layout of plumbing systems and fixtures in the new housing project.
- Install Plumbing Systems: Install piping systems for water supply, drainage, and ventilation according to building codes and project specifications. This includes connecting pipes, fittings, and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, and bathtubs.
- Fit and Assemble Components: Measure, cut, and thread pipes using hand or power tools. Assemble and install valves, fittings, and fixtures accurately to ensure proper functionality.
- Test Systems for Leaks: Conduct pressure tests to check for leaks in newly installed piping systems. Identify and repair any leaks or faulty connections to ensure the integrity of the plumbing system.
- Install Fixtures and Appliances: Mount and connect plumbing fixtures and appliances such as sinks, faucets, water heaters, dishwashers, and washing machines. Ensure that all connections are secure and properly sealed.
- Collaborate with Other Trades: Coordinate with other construction trades such as electricians, HVAC technicians, and carpenters to ensure that plumbing installations are integrated seamlessly with other building systems.
- Adhere to Safety Regulations: Follow safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain Records and Documentation: Keep detailed records of work performed, including materials used, installation dates, and any inspections conducted. Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Identify and troubleshoot plumbing problems that may arise during construction. Collaborate with supervisors and contractors to find timely and effective solutions.
- Maintain Clean and Organized Work Area: Keep the work area clean and organized, including proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials. Dispose of waste and debris responsibly.
Requirements
- Full, clean drivers Licence
- Good attitude and excellent people skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
- Experience with new housing is preferable
