Are you a passionate and experienced secondary school teacher looking for new opportunity? We are seeking a skilled educator to join our team for New Zealand secondary schools.

As our ideal candidate, you will possess strong skills in planning, preparing, and presenting lessons in one or more subjects such as mathematics & statistics, English, the arts, science, social sciences, technology, health, physical education etc.

You would need a thorough understanding of different teaching methods and learning styles. You will also be adept at working with children in group settings and possess excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication with students and parents from diverse backgrounds is a must, and you will be committed to becoming familiar with Te Reo Māori.

In addition, you will be well-versed in the curriculum subjects and possess research skills that enable you to keep up to date with the best practices in teaching.

Details of the role

  • Plan, prepare, and present lessons
  • Set and mark assignments and tests
  • Assess students' work for national qualifications
  • Keep records and write reports on students
  • Observe and manage student behaviour in the classroom and other environments such as the gym or sports fields
  • Attend departmental and staff meetings
  • Meet with parents, or caregivers, individually or at parents' evenings
  • Participate in or organise extra-curricular activities such as sports or camps
  • Keep up to date with curriculum changes and assessment methods



Requirements

  • Experience in teaching secondary school learners
  • A current NZ teachers' registration
  • Qualification assessment by NZQA (if international)
