The role

• Fabrication of heavy, mild, and light gage steels are achieved using sound 'trade' methods
• Weld all parts, components, and framework using a variety of welding processes
• Position, align and fit parts according to specifications
• Grind, sand, polish, and detail fabrications to required finish using hand and power tools
• Accurately measure, check, and examine completed work in order to properly verify that it conforms to all specifications
• All fabrications tasks are to be completed in the agreed (quoted) time frames or better
• Utilise visual inspections to check and report on any findings
• Ensure fabrication is carried out in accordance with design and scope

Qualifications and experience

• Relevant trade qualification - Welder / Fabricator / Boilermaker
• Proven knowledge and experience of industrial fabrication to meet global / industry requirements, standards, and procedures with attention to detail and exacting quality
• Experience and competency of ALL positions including TIG and MIG welding, and specifically Steel fabrication
• Experience and competency with Flame Cutting, Arc/Air gouging and use of all standard engineering tools and machinery
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, welding procedures, and work instructions
• Working at heights and confined spaces would be advantageous
• Experience in design and manufacture of templates
